Well, everyone has their own point of view, but if you do it yourself, you could be a bit more generous.

- with 5x16mm² into the small distribution box in the garage.
- 1x 32A socket
- 2x 16A sockets
- one fuse for the garage doors
- one fuse for lamps
- one fuse for outdoor socket(s)
- one fuse for sockets in general
- 3 fuses for workbench power
- ...
- don't forget the network cable

Of course. Why should I run cables to the garage that can handle 82A per phase again?

But you definitely forgot the RCDs. No matter what you do, you should run the garage/outdoor sockets through a separate RCD.

Strange calculation on your part.

Had to be quick. Still, 5x16 is a bit oversized for a garage; but on the other hand, no RCDs listed...

Depending on how much space you have in the garage and what you want to do there?! I have a simple garage where my car is parked. I really only need power sometimes for a battery charger / vacuum cleaner / a light for the night and power for the gate opener. I have never used my high-voltage power.

Hello everyone,

Since it fits the topic quite well, I'm bringing up this old thread..

We are currently building a semi-detached house from the developer. Tomorrow is the final selection appointment. Our house includes a carport with a bicycle storage room. By default, there is no electricity here. For 500€, we can basically have electricity and our own distribution board installed in the carport. A normal cable run is included.

Now the question: what do I need to pay attention to tomorrow to ensure that this power connection/distribution board will later be sufficient to install a 22 kW wallbox if we ever go electric. Apart from that, we will not need anything but electricity and lighting in the future.

Is it that easy to say? The most important thing is probably that the underground cables have a sufficient diameter?

Thanks for your help
