Thanks for the answer!
Parking or charging the electric car at cold temperatures is not a problem at all.

The carport is located directly next to the house, in front of it there is exactly 5 meters (paved) of space in the driveway.

Then there is nothing against the electric gate.

Our neighbors now want to put up [Carport Tari] in front so that no one sees that both cars are gone. We think it's good if there is always a vehicle visible when it is there, so that it represents a livable situation. There are always pros and cons. It just has to suit its owner.

Just because of martens alone, a garage is advantageous. You can also tinker there sometimes and you don't freeze. Or change tires, etc.

Actually not comparable at all. A garage offers a completely different added value because it is a proper building. A carport is just a parking space.

If possible, I would always build a closed garage. It provides storage space for car accessories, bicycles, garden tools, for Christmas decorations, suitcases, etc., if you don't have the space in the house. You can set up a small workshop... The car is more protected (moisture is not an issue in a well-built garage), and especially in winter, you save yourself scraping the windows.
