Yes

I would avoid something pieced together.

Same for us. But there are areas with harder water

That doesn’t matter. They are a pair… it’s always strange, this thing about shame and/or ugliness

Well...

if someone is sitting on it, it can indeed be ugly...
 ;) :D

Unfortunately, I fear we won't get around the shower door; the client just prefers it warmer/muggier, and past experiences in vacation rentals etc. have shown that open showers can be a bit cooler/draughty ;)

Glad to hear, thanks!

In a fit of recklessness, I tried something completely different, please don’t laugh:

My thoughts:

[*]The shower has a "walk-in aesthetic," but still with a door. Possibly opening inward/pivoting?
[*]Due to the length of the cabin (230cm), the door, i.e., the part most intensive to clean, gets little/less wet?
[*]Does a towel holder/warmer on the north wall of the cabin make sense? Then you wouldn’t even have to open the door to the cold outside to grab the towel ;)
[*]We are actually light bathers; with the freestanding tub I see more the advantage that the window, due to the shape, is easier to reach? Of course, it also makes a statement, possibly one finds a reasonably priced model that doesn’t require the sale of various organs.
[*]The toilets still stand somewhat lost in the room... But as already pointed out, there are only two of us, the bathroom is often used by only one person, and there is still the guest WC.
[*]Wash basin as usual on the north wall. Possibly dispense with the tall cabinet next to it and make it as wide as possible (180cm)

Best regards and have a nice evening,

For me, this is the V4 layout … no need to argue about details :) I personally don't like freestanding tubs, I prefer more straightforward designs with platforms where you can place towels and sponges etc. But everyone has to decide for themselves what design they value. You only have to reach the window when you clean it. The problem that could arise in vacation rentals etc. is a) a floor area that is too small so that the underfloor heating is not sufficient or, without underfloor heating, that there is simply none installed in the shower area, and thus no heat is transferred from the heating to the shower. However, your room will be sufficiently warm. Good construction practice includes underfloor heating loops even in the walk-in shower.

You should find yourself another roommate ;)

It is terribly hard to clean freestanding bathtubs. You have to be willing to do that. And I don’t like walk-in showers either, because I also don’t like the draft. And underfloor heating doesn’t help much with that either. For example, ours is off in the summer.
