I can only contribute one thing: New building, shell construction condition, in the countryside. No electricity, cables freshly laid, screed fresh. Thunderstorm in June. Damage: Over 8000 euros. Trades, above all electricians (60 years of experience): lightning strike in the shell construction - we have NEVER experienced that before... The matter has been dragging on with repercussions until today. I am for anything that could help even remotely... you learn from damage...

Direct strikes are objectively rare in our preparation stages. Where lightning strikes in individual cases is unpredictable, and the assumption that shell constructions are not affected by this is highly naive from a lightning protection perspective. The surge protection soon to be required according to DIN VDE 0100-443 and DIN VDE 0100-534 works against surges from the low-voltage network and can only have an indirect positive effect in the event of direct strikes by diverting fewer current components into the distribution network of the VNB to the neighborhood. SPD devices for energy and telecom lines can neither replace a lightning protection system nor compensate for defects in grounding systems or antenna groundings. Since the topic of direct strikes is off-topic here, but I am interested, please send damage details via PM.

We have surge protection in the fuse box... but which one, no idea.

Please specify your interest, I cannot give you exact information beyond damages and prices, but I am happy to help where I can...
