Phew, I unfortunately have to agree with my predecessors. Child 2 is pretty close to a complete disaster. Rooftop terrace, when you have a nice garden, also seems pointless to me. At least I don't know anyone who prefers to sit there instead of in the garden, but exceptions of course always prove the rule.

About the lighting designer: I think it's a pretty nice thing and you can certainly get something out of it, but for me, 3500€ is simply too expensive. There is added value, of course, but for my feeling not enough.

I think you can get that cheaper too. In principle, I find the costs (in the hundredths range of the total costs, you have to see it in relation) for someone like that simply well invested. I've already seen too many houses that were super well planned, but the lights simply didn't fit and then so much is lost, and retrofitting in that case is always difficult.

Attached are our spots on the ground floor. I had to quickly sketch it back then because the concrete ceiling had to be ordered. For me, the spots are basically the general lighting; it must be sufficient to make everywhere adequately bright. Probably there ended up being a bit too many, but a lot can still be gained by choosing the right bulbs. We also have group switches and dimmers. I would not have commissioned a planner for this; as I said, it's simply "just" about light. Some basic principles probably have to be observed, for example, not casting shadows on yourself.

I could imagine a lighting consultant if it’s about "mood lighting." We are currently considering what a lighting concept in the living room with wall, floor, and ceiling lamps could look like, how to illuminate the stair steps, etc.

Hi,

creepy.... so many spotlights!

From the "technical side" you're right = goal achieved, light everywhere!

From the "emotional side" = creepy, it can't get any worse!

Therefore, better invest a few thousand in a lighting consultant or interior designer (lighting and furniture belong together!).....

Best regards, Barossi

Creating a lighting concept when the building is already standing is, in my opinion, a decidedly step too late...

There aren’t that many, just about 85 to 90 in total. But seriously: I find the very small, white spot housings pleasantly unobtrusive. In the old house, we have halogen spots in many rooms arranged in an 80 cm grid, which is even more, and that doesn’t bother me at all. They just aren’t the right light for every situation, so other lamps are additionally needed.

Recently, we retrofitted an automatic switch in the upper hallway. When there is movement and darkness, the spots turn on dimmed (about 10% power); when you touch the switch, they go to 100%. Of course, this also works with other lamps, but with many spots, the "light distribution" is just excellent.
