Thank you very much for the feedback.
Apparently, the biggest point of criticism is indeed the orientation of the rooms. For me, it was quite natural that the hallway, utility room, and guest WC face the street (south) because you don’t spend much time there anyway, and the living rooms face the garden. The garden side would also simply offer a nicer view for large window fronts. If you follow the neighboring buildings, the house cannot be set back either – so the garden will definitely be facing north.
I will nevertheless try a floor plan where the living room is in the west. I also noticed that the orientation is not completely north, but northwest. So if the living room were “left” in the floor plan, it would have a southwest orientation.
The other tips are also very valuable – thank you for that. For example, I was not aware that terrace doors usually open inward. I will take that into account in the next draft.
The feedback here also sounds like most people prefer an open kitchen. In any case, I wouldn't know how you could manage a dining area with a closed kitchen, but maybe there are some approaches for that. I will have to think about it again. I am actually more the type for a closed kitchen. Maybe I will try a floor plan where the living room and kitchen form one room but are somewhat separated in an L-shape. Then one dining area should suffice.
In general, I still have the question of how the decision between hallway and gallery is viewed here. The floor plan where I wanted to reduce the size has a hallway. With the larger floor plan, I could also imagine a gallery. What is your opinion on that?
P.S. Your suggestions really help...
