As far as I know, there is already a small gray box on the wall outside. I should take another photo of it. I can also ask the electrician again.

Normally, the telecom technician clamps the "1st socket" to the so-called APL. Usually, this APL is inside; maybe outside at your place. And to this 1st socket, the splitter and NTBA (in case of ISDN) are then connected.

In any case, ask the electrician; because you should not touch the APL unless Telekom has released and activated the connection.

If the cable actually goes to the APL, then you just need to get a surface-mounted TAE socket and simply screw it to the wall. When the Telekom technician arrives, he will then connect the APL to this socket and check whether ISDN/DSL /contact to the exchange exists and then go on his way. And you can then connect all the equipment to this socket.

Addendum:

The TAE socket must of course be at least a TAE 6 F socket. It can also be a TAE 6NFN, but since the ISDN/DSL stuff is behind it anyway, 6 F is perfectly sufficient.

If you only have the FritzBox and it is located at the patch panel in the utility room, then you have no advantage.
But if, for example, you have a NAS in your office, which should not be connected to the FritzBox but to a computer located in another room, you can "pass through" via the patch panel.
That is the advantage of a star topology... but as I said, it strongly depends on what the user intends to do.

I only did it at our place last month.

The installation set with tester is an absolute must for us, approx. 10 lines x 8 wires and outlets.

For the patch panel, I took a 24-port one because it's cheap.

A 24-port managed switch with 1 Gbit!

An Ikea shelf has to serve as the housing for the patch panel for 15 euros.

I connected 8 outlets

+ NAS

+ Somfy

1x Fritzbox + O2 box "I have to read the access data again due to the move, got new passwords and damn router binding."

The LackRack?

For 100€ you can also get a small network cabinet including accessories, i.e. patch panel, cable guides, and sockets. I find that a cleaner solution than hanging or even putting those things somewhere individually. But I have different requirements and therefore also screwed a 12U server rack to the wall .
