The amplifier is located in the main distribution; until now I have always received the signal from my regular TV socket. I will try to contact a Unitymedia technician. First of all, thank you very much for your help.

There are certainly possibilities for misunderstandings. Are you talking about the TV signal or an internet connection?

Both come from the same hardware anyway.

Hi, for me it looks like this. At the end of the antenna cable comes the FritzBox Cable or the Connect-Box from Unitymedia. The cable signal (for TV etc.) is distributed separately via a "MultiSat switch" towards the antenna sockets in the rooms. But I think it will be tight in that box!

The statement from the initial post was clearly about the network and not TV. What I have not yet understood is the statement "set up a Wi-Fi network in every room." Basically, the cable from the street comes to your house transfer point. There you have, as shown above, the amplifier and splitter. After that, a cable runs from the distributor to the designated rooms (or possibly several, depending on the plan). For the internet, you definitely need a cable modem. Either the Vodafone box from Unitymedia (or by now Vodafone) or your own/rented Fritzbox Cable (e.g. 6951). For installation, you now have two options: 1) Centrally in the technical room (or in your cabinet) This means you connect your cable modem directly after the distributor and then lay the network cables to the different rooms, e.g. via a patch panel. However, there may be too little space in the distribution cabinet overall for this. 2) In one room You will have several rooms with a TV socket, where you can theoretically connect the cable modem. However, distribution via network to the other rooms is then no longer possible or very complicated, and only distribution via Wi-Fi remains. How many rooms and square meters are we talking about that should be covered with Wi-Fi?
