Well, it can happen that quickly after all - the price has increased by 20 percent compared to the last inquiry.

Since costs are obviously getting out of hand not only there, we had to make a decision and we went back to the original idea: vinyl.

Until the day before yesterday, I didn't know that the material also comes in 9-11mm thickness, but now it fits even better for us in the transition to the tiles and at the terrace doors.

Of course, it will also be glued... but with a cost saving of around 4000 euros, I didn't need to think about it for that long.

If you like vinyl, why not. A lot has changed in recent years.

We had it in our last rented apartment in the bedrooms - it was nice and above all warm underfoot and "soft".

Therefore, we initially wanted the same, but then changed our mind to wood - we find both nice, vinyl is just more versatile - wood, however, is natural.

Well, in the end the costs decided. The wooden staircase is now also discarded and will be a plain tiled staircase.

Take floor tiles...!
Also faced the decision, since the kitchen and living area are in one room and it's all on the ground floor. (direct access to the terrace, garden, etc.) Haven't regretted it. No transition from parquet to tile - just looks better and more elegant. Tiles are indestructible ("wear layer" not an issue) Dirt, water or a bit of grease from cooking - no problem. Parquet needs maintenance. Eventually it might look shabby (visible "paths" where you always walk back and forth). Of course, it's all subjective, but there are also porcelain tiles in the most beautiful wood look. Take a look in a specialist store. Hope I could help to make the decision easier...
Sunny greetings

Eijejei, whether stoneware looks more noble.....a matter of taste. Parquet and tile can certainly also look elegant. And whether tiles are indestructible I tend to doubt. As far as care is concerned, I also see no problem with dirt, tiles also need to be maintained. And finally, which is of course also a personal feeling, stone in wood look is simply not acceptable.
