Aren't tiles in wood look simply painted (artificial) stone? What is the difference to vinyl?

I have the feeling that this was the thread where these were not an option for the OP...

You are right. It was in the last sentence. You also have to read to the end.

Those were also discussions for us back then. We have now been living in our house for 2.5 years and have continuously oiled parquet. Haven't regretted it for a minute so far. Two different floors in basically one room just look at best mediocre to me. And only tiles would not be an option for me. It's really no big deal with drops and stains unless you really mess up wild game every day. Then I would install a floor drain in addition to tiles. Then it's quickly pressure-washed through. No, seriously, wiped away promptly it's actually no problem with average German kitchen activities.

If something drips down while cooking or preparing, that may be the case. But how about small children? With our child, something sometimes falls beside the mouth and drops down and then, if it’s not the full juice glass, may also lie under the table until the child has disappeared into bed. I have never had parquet flooring, so I cannot understand to what extent tomato sauce from the noodles or red cabbage permanently leave stains on parquet. That’s why we initially decided on tiles with a wood look in the kitchen and living room. My wife initially had concerns about tiles in the living room, but thanks to the wood look and underfloor heating, those concerns could be dismissed. A big disadvantage of tiles is that everything that falls is usually immediately broken. Be it dishes, which shatter into a thousand pieces, but also the little one’s toys suffer more. An advantage of tiles, in my opinion, arises in summer. I have the feeling that the tiles draw some heat from the air in summer, making it more pleasant in rooms with tiles.
