Hello Musketeer,

I’m just imagining my granddaughter flooding the bathroom because she wants to play fish. Laminate is and remains resin-impregnated paper – if it is to be made even half water-resistant, in my view a considerable industrial effort is required. The accompanying costs then justify, in my opinion, the use of industrial laminate; looks very good, by the way. But then the original poster is again facing costs that are many times higher than those of tiles ;)

Rhenish regards

Then where is the point of laminate in the bathroom? I just don’t understand it and would choose tiles without a second thought.

I recently saw a bathroom in a show house where the "main path" from the door to the sink and from there to the shower was tiled, everything around it with laminate.... it really looked great!

Yes, show home, but in reality, something like that would probably never be done.

I once had a bathroom with high-quality PVC. I really liked it (not cold, soft, no joints, appealing design). But I would probably still tile every new bathroom ...

Hello, No laminate under any circumstances for the bathroom. It wears out quickly. Especially when there are children in the house and water play takes place in the bathroom, the laminate will be ruined in a short time. Nothing beats tiles. BG

Even if these special laminate panels have moisture protection, I can't imagine that being a permanent solution for the bathroom. Tiles simply belong in the bathroom, if only because they are preferable for maintenance.
