The concrete components are also in the earth-contact area. Walls are waterproof concrete with seals, thick coating, XPS insulation + delta ms drain.

So, something for the floor slab enthusiasts. Today was the big day. The floor slab has been poured. Almost 200m3 of concrete. From Wednesday, the walls for the basement will arrive. 57 pieces in total. Finally out of the dirt. The men are really great.

Wow, that really makes your jaw drop. Great project. The prefabricated walls will surely be great too, I'm already looking forward to the first pictures. What kind of windows are you installing? What ceiling height do you have?

We have room height and floor-to-ceiling windows from Swissfineline. Frameless and with the corresponding protection class. As already mentioned several times, the largest opening is 10 meters. Two 5-meter elements that slide. If I remember correctly, about 60 linear meters of glass in total. Room heights will be finished at 2.75. Raw dimensions partly 3.20. Higher does not work with the prefabricated parts either.

A wreck before the Lord! But nice to see how it grows!

Sure, it is not small but I wouldn’t call it rubble. It is deceptive because the garage is still included now. Once it is filled in, you only see the smaller or floating parts. We did not want to build a "block." It is also for us. Whether some don’t like it is irrelevant to us. It polarizes but that was not our intention behind the construction. The goal is to build our home for many years or even decades. Material things are not so important to us (as long as the essentials are covered). In recent years, we have painfully learned what is truly important..
