: I had overlooked the photo offer, thank you very much. But I looked at it at Ikea yesterday and actually don't find the overhanging countertop disturbing. However, I realized that all refrigerators are huge and I can't plan with them because we would never reach the top.

: I looked at Underverk and yes, it really doesn't look that great. I have now found one from AEG that roughly corresponds to what you describe, plus a pull-out shield. Hopefully it will still be available when the time comes. (A hood costing 500-1500 € wouldn't match our cooking habits...)

Oh, and I have also noticed: these profiled fronts (Sävedal, Bodbyn...) are quite nice, but I think the constant cleaning wouldn’t be fun for me. I find Veddinge quite chic, but unfortunately it has no glass cabinet fronts (although SÄVEDAL might fit there). But according to IKEA staff, new things might be added from August, and before that we can't buy anything anyway. We’ll see.

I’m still planning ahead! And I’m glad that our IKEA will offer kitchen planning workshops in a few weeks.

Thanks for your quick help so far!

If this could also be installed "up top" in a 60 cm cabinet, it would still be included in the price considerations. (I found the installation manual online for the AEG, which I found appealing.)

Display cabinet doors would, according to current planning, only affect an 80x60 cm cabinet for relaxation, so to speak. But maybe we'll leave it completely without doors, we'll see.

One more question, where I don't know if a separate thread would be more appropriate: we would like to have this corner cabinet but would have to shorten it (and cut the shelves instead of using a carousel) because one side is only 40 cm deep instead of 60. That should be doable with some craftsmanship, right? I can gladly post my thoughts on that in detail. :D The biggest concern would actually be whether the double door hinge can also support a door that is 20 cm longer (and thus also heavier).

The installation instructions are also available from Neff, integrated into the operating manual. First, the installation for a 60 cm wide

Cool, thanks!!

A longer door would have been possible only by shortening one side (top).
In the meantime, we are considering shortening it completely (bottom), but of course we are also thinking about alternatives.
We find the carousel rather a waste of space (unused corners).
With the other corner cabinet, the problem would be that you wouldn’t be able to reach the back area well... we would have to shorten it to 1 meter, with a 40 cm door, so that it visually matches the top cabinets (and here the carousel only fills half the cabinet - impractical).
But we are still pondering over this whole corner.

Do you currently already have the kitchen with the base cabinets and chairs like in the pictures? I would go crazy in the kitchen.

Because we have to crawl under?

Because... at the moment we only have mismatched kitchen furniture from my old apartment, like this from above:

We want to get rid of most of the open shelves, simply because everything collects dust/grease and they are already hanging too high. Pots etc. should therefore go into the corner cabinet.

There is already a shelf under the table because we simply have nowhere proper space. Currently, some food is stored in the hallway, which we don’t want anymore – hence the idea of having larger cabinets under the table. I would like them to be less deep, but at the same time they should support the countertop, which would otherwise hang freely over 1.20 meters and could eventually sag? The chairs would be hung on the wall when not in use (and not, as it is now, constantly in the way) – we can also eat in the living room, but that is always a bit inconvenient. Although we are still considering that as an alternative, because the kitchen table would only be possible by the window.

I don’t see any other storage options where we (160 /-3cm tall) wouldn’t have to climb, like with the planned wall cabinets up high for rarely used stuff.
No cabinets can be hung above the sink (thin wall full of cables), especially since steaming appliances like a kettle and coffee machine would stand on the dishwasher. The chairs would hang on the wall where the stove is now. The cat food corner would be below.

But we’re happy to take tips!

PS: This is a rental apartment and we are not allowed to change any connections. We also only have three regular sockets in the kitchen, all between the radiator and the window.
