Nice! (except for the view )

That was the eat-in kitchen in the row house, right?

May I ask what the board on the ceiling by the dining room lamps is for?

Thank you for all the feedback. Of course, we want to be able to work directly on the countertop. Sunday is pizza day and the dough is rolled out directly on the countertop. It would obviously be unfortunate if the countertop were treated in some way and we ended up with harmful substances in the food... Ceramic is probably too expensive for us in the end. Quartz is basically the only sensible alternative, right? Of course, it could be that the polished surface would be a good contrast to the matte kitchen and it really seems to be more resistant. So it is worth considering again.

Then at least avoid the types of stone I mentioned.

In Italy, they sometimes work on untreated marble. Everything soaks in, every acid has an effect, and nobody cares. Different mentality, you can recognize the diligent cook by the patina on the countertop .

Quartz works, granite works too. Nero Assoluto granite paired with a white kitchen makes up about 50% of black-and-white kitchen buyers, it feels like.

Here, wallet and taste decide, there are big price differences, which stem not from material quality, but mainly from origin and rarity.

Interesting. At Steinwerk, I liked the look of the Nero Impala in relatively light gray.

As said, whatever you like and what is within the price range, just have it sent as a test object. Most of them also come in 30X30 floor tiles, which are completely sufficient for this purpose. It must be untreated and then tested with the usual culprits (coffee, tea, wine, vinegar, lemon).

If the test goes well, everything else is just a matter of price and taste.

So wood in any form is out of the running?
