Regarding the Faktum version of the "corner cabinet setup" of the long corner cabinet, I have written down my opinion. The new one is constructed somewhat differently, but some of the statements still apply. Of course, you would only do my tinkering if the kitchen is very small and every bit of space is needed.

Cool!

If no DIY work is desired, the corner cabinet can still be used for the sink and shortened shelves can be placed in the "dark corner" for storing rarely used items. This way the corner wouldn’t be dead, but only a hinged door under the sink would be possible, no drawers (since a side panel is "missing").

Look ... I made some changes.

- Corner removed
- 80cm base cabinet for the sink swapped with the dishwasher
- Water connection will be adjusted accordingly

Under the sink, I would like to install the VARIERA / Utrusta bins, so that I "almost" have a base cabinet with a waste system, even though it is not directly under the countertop where the cutting takes place.

On both sides of the corner, 50mm filler strips were added.

Any suggestions?

In the middle, it currently looks like this ... I was able to install 2x 80cm cabinets and also a 20cm pull-out cabinet for oils etc.

Space for an 80cm induction hob and a head-free extractor hood is guaranteed ...

The other corner now looks like this:

On the advice of an Ikea expert, I removed the corner and made room for a 60cm and a 40cm cabinet. On the right in the dead corner, I don’t really lose space, maybe about 35cm of room. And on the other side, it looks the same because the two 60cm cabinets have a depth of 37cm. I would have liked 60cm there as well, but then they would stick out too far into the room and in my opinion feel a bit too cramped.

There too, I attached a 50mm filler strip on each side of both corners.

Any suggestions?

Best regards

Just a small tip from me regarding the IKEA planner

under kitchen/built-in kitchens/countertops/corner countertops

there are the dead corners as a template, so you don't have to make the 5 cm panels by hand and you also don't have a hole in the countertop

Oh, and the trash bins under the sinks are not comparable to a base cabinet with a waste system.
Under the sink I used to have them, but since I started reading the kitchen forum, I have installed the trash bins in a 50 cm cabinet with the upper drawer.
The big advantage is that you can really just slide the scraps from the countertop into the trash bin and don’t have to pick them up again.
If you want a proper base cabinet with a waste system, I would leave out the 20 cm pull-out cabinet on the stove side (I find IKEA’s too wobbly) and replace an 80 cm cabinet with a 60 cm one, then you still have space for a 40 cm base cabinet with a waste system.

Otherwise, I find the plan very good.

I always think, can't you install an oven high up there? Maybe in a 140 cm high cabinet? I don't really have a proper idea for that. Are the low walls standing like that in the room or are they only used as a boundary for the planner?

Hey Schmidti,

thanks for the tip about the corner countertops, I knew about it too .. I deliberately left the corners free for now.
Regarding the base cabinet with the waste system .. are there options for the 37 cm cabinet as well? I currently have two installed there.
- My wife doesn’t want a tall cabinet for the oven. Topic closed. Theoretically, the kitchen is finalized. And I like it that way too. Lots of space for everything, enough storage ... and the "workflows" with appropriate filling of the cabinets is, in my opinion, well thought out here.
