That is an important note, which is missing in the installation manual, or has it been revised?

No, they were not revised. Although this problem should probably be known in Sweden. That is why I have pointed it out here once again.

Then damage occurred due to a lack of support, but no contributory negligence.

Yes, because a customer should be able to think that far, that a floor cannot hold the cabinet. My opinion.

No, you cannot expect that from the customer. The Faktum cabinets are built according to the same principle. In my old base cabinets, the feet are only under the bottom. The plastic plate for insertion came later. As a consumer, you have to be able to assume that a cabinet is constructed to hold when set up according to the assembly instructions.
The suspension of Besta seems very questionable. Is the customer also supposed to have enough foresight here and consider another mounting option? The maximum load is specified on the website as 30 kg per shelf. In response to my inquiry, Ikea wrote that the entire carcass may only be loaded with 30 kg, including the doors. If a cabinet with three shelves is loaded with 50 kg and collapses, should the customer have known that the carcass or suspension cannot bear 3 x 30 kg?

Well countered, IKEA expert

First of all:
Nowhere in Pax does it say that this is the foot and that it is meant to be used as a foot.

2.
Anyone with a bit of technical understanding recognizes that this cannot be used as a foot. At the latest, when I load the cabinet and notice that the cabinet becomes unstable, I as a user start to have concerns.
If I don’t lock my car and it gets stolen, I can’t sue the car manufacturer for not writing it on the key.... or in the manual.

3.
Factum:
Factum has a thicker bottom and thicker sidewalls, the foot has a significantly larger support area and not to forget 3 eccentrics and dowels.

4.
Besta:
My dear IKEA expert,
Besta is completely different in construction. In Faktum, the bottom is built to the side panel. In Besta, it’s the other way around. Therefore, the question does not even arise.

Any further questions?
