Hi,

But we will definitely have a topping-out ceremony. My neighbors would slaughter me if I missed an opportunity to celebrate!

Best regards,

Andreas

We had asked the craftsmen back then. Most of them didn't want a topping-out ceremony; they preferred to spend the evening with their families. Instead, they were treated by us during work with cold drinks (coffee, mineral water, cola, etc. - alcohol was categorically refused) and cake as well as sausage rolls. That made most of them happy. Only our neighbors were sad. But hopefully there will be a summer sometime when we can have a barbecue round (Saarland-style grilling).

I will also occasionally bring a round of mineral water. On their side, the message was clear: "But only water, definitely no beer, we all still have to drive. We'll make up for it at the topping-out ceremony." That's why I think we'll keep it quite traditional.

We had a topping-out ceremony. All the craftsmen as well as the future trades like [Sanitär] and [Elektro] really came to us. In addition to meat and drinks, each craftsman received 2 bottles of wine in a gift box as a small present. Everyone was happy about it because apparently no one expected it.

We also had a topping-out ceremony - however, the craftsmen were a bit impatient because the grill wasn't getting warm. But everything was fine in the end when there was finally meat - but they were also the first to leave... which is understandable, considering it was their free time.

We also held a topping-out ceremony with the entire crew as well as the neighbors. A nice suckling pig and everyone was happy
Since it was a Wednesday and the craftsmen all came from far away and therefore could not go home to their families, indeed everyone participated.
There were no envelopes with money.
