Build a terraced end house with an additional unit (GÜ) on your own

My oven can also steam and my DG can also bake - both from Miele. But as mentioned, the DG also comes with a microwave function. If that is desired, I would choose that appliance. It is also available from Miele, but surely also from other manufacturers.

It has already been mentioned here: I would plan the trash directly under the countertop. We have two: one for regular waste and a shallower drawer for organic waste, which we empty much more often. I wouldn’t want to miss it anymore! Cutting, chopping, and when finished, just open the drawer and shove the leftovers in. Phenomenal! For this organic waste cabinet with waste system, a drawer height like the one used for cutlery is more than enough. We then bought a shallow container from Ikea - fits! (it was such a drawer for the furniture program for children’s rooms):

so it first looks totally practical with the drawer, and above all, that nothing is on top anymore. But how does the stuff dry? We have a sieve in the small washing part where the organic stuff goes in, it can drip off directly and start drying so that it doesn't soak the bin.

Lack of hygiene is not.... You empty the organic waste quite often and then you just quickly rinse out the bin or use newspaper. And nothing needs to be dried before using the organic waste bin. That would be somehow silly.

We take out organic waste almost daily to the compost, so nothing needs to dry. Where is the lack of hygiene there??? I don't understand. We also take out our trash before it starts to stink, and I regularly wipe out the trash bin. Because I simply don’t like smelly trash bins (whether for organic waste or regular waste). It definitely doesn’t depend on whether the bin is under the countertop or under the sink, just generally speaking.

Otherwise, I personally find it simply practical not to have to bend down – that becomes unhygienic if you miss the bin (which, when I had to be quick in the old kitchen, where the bin was classically under the sink, did happen to me from time to time). When I chop or clean a lot of vegetables, I do it already in front of the drawer with the organic waste, and when I’m done or need space: just open the drawer, wipe everything in. I used to do that, only back then we always had a bowl for organic waste that we also took to the compost after cooking. But even then: held the bowl under the countertop, wiped in. Now with the drawer it’s more practical. But as mentioned above, organic waste is emptied pretty regularly anyway. It just stinks quickly and I can’t deal with that. No matter at what height it is located.
