Our general contractor also tried to "talk us up" on that when we discussed the additional 5k for the necessary insulation.

But it is of course still true.

Next problem: our general contractor would like to see our site filled so that he can install the outdoor unit of the heat pump.

If I now fill in on the side of the house, I need a slope that goes so wide over to the neighbor's side that it could interfere with their basement excavation or destroy our slope. This would also mean our parking spaces are gone.

L-shaped stones cost a fortune over that length. Thursday/Friday I have an appointment with our local earthworks contractor - maybe there is an alternative solution.
