The basic work can certainly be done with technology. But gardening still involves kneeling, bending, and standing.
Selling sounds so easy now and is logically the right decision, nevertheless, the elderly don't do it because they are attached to the house even though it can no longer be managed.

Sorry, but I have never seen anyone die from it...
I exercise every other day, one day I won't be able to anymore, then I'll be glad I can still do the gardening, humans are naturally designed for it.
I see it with my father too, he loved taking care of his garden, he sold his house, now lives with my brother and is super happy to be able to pursue his hobby.
But not everyone can afford the luxury of a large property, I was lucky that my plot is over 1000 sqm, downtown, corner lot, and dead-end street, couldn't be better for me, it was pure coincidence.
