What is the cost-neutral idea supposed to be? I can't think of anything!
I can already see that the alternative will only work with the neighbor's help.

Cost-neutral compared to the 15k for the embankment. It will probably be a foundation solution that extends down to the neighbor's later basement depth.

Ok. I'm curious to hear what you report this evening!
Please then also with an explanation

Foundation at the neighbor’s basement depth? What happens to the space between the foundation and the top edge of the finished floor? I just can’t imagine realizing something like this without lowering the ground floor. Your general contractor can’t work magic either. Or maybe he can after all

I can already hear the basement calling.

How do they want to know how and where the neighbor wants to lay the foundation of his basement? Maybe he wants a ceiling height of 2.60m there... Or does that not matter?

He had roughly explained it to me once: the base slab is then executed as a precast concrete part and then rests on the foundations.

Therefore, no expensive compactable material needs to be poured in between; instead, the excavation can be used. The backfill then no longer supports the base slab but the foundations.

However, once I know the exact execution, I will of course be happy to explain it here.

If he really wants to pay several thousand euros for the necessary support because of 15 cm more ceiling height, that would be more than unwise.
