I took a closer look at the basement today. Some basement walls are not directly next to each other but are several centimeters apart, so formwork has been installed there to close the gap later during concreting.

Also, it seems that the basement walls of the other end house are higher than ours. How do they then install the floor slabs evenly? Are such height differences and such "gap dimensions" normal in basement construction and are they fixed later?

What do you think?

Today, the neighbor actually asked if he could insulate his basement walls on our property… :rolleyes:

Our goodwill proposal was that he pays for the soil survey (€400), which we needed because of the frost in the ground and which he refused to pay back then, and now pays it, and we share the costs for the privacy screen/fence, as neighbors usually do, then he could insulate on our property…

…now guess who will have an uninsulated basement… :rolleyes:
