Storage space - that is completely missing. Maybe a small workshop for dad. I wouldn’t try that and I didn’t assume that either. Do you want to make a living basement out of it? That’s right. Only the scale tips drastically towards the basement, since walls have to be built there inevitably. I totally agree with you - but as I said - the basement walls will definitely be built. Whether with a roof or without. Now reconsider. That is decided by the structural engineer. With 3 floors it’s tight. I think he will make a wall or pillar in the middle so he can sleep peacefully at night.

A air-to-water heat pump with the corresponding underfloor heating. Has anyone already dealt with basement walls made of precast concrete elements? Sure, the usual basement builders sell them for a lot of money. However, a lady had written to me who ordered the basement walls from a concrete plant that actually makes agricultural silos. Our general contractor would probably do the formwork. Does that make sense price-wise?

Yes, I would. Because...

... the basement still ends up being more expensive than just foundations. Of course: not in proportion. But if you don't have the money, weighing it doesn't help. This terraced house has its reasons. If had more money, it wouldn't be this cheap house, nor would he generally plan without a basement.

It's terrible that half a million total budget nowadays counts as a saving house. It sounds a bit presumptuous and arrogant.

That’s true, of course. In the end, it doesn’t help at all if somewhere 20K is missing; then it’s missing and that’s that. It’s just the heartbreak that we all die from here...

A basement without an attic conversion would also be an option with that slope. The only question is how the neighbors will shape their land. If they all sit a floor higher on the terrace and you sit in the valley, that’s really funny.

I would call companies all day long here and request one quote after another.

The formwork thing is certainly a common option. But when I saw how fast our mason built up the walls – he was 3 times faster. On the other hand, the concrete truck for the floor slab comes anyway… well, you can only ask.
