Hello everyone,
I signed up here because I hope to get some help.
I now have a bit of experience assembling kitchens.
Initially, I planned and built my first kitchen about 10 years ago from Bauhaus components called Yes-Box.
After that, I planned and built two more kitchens, both from IKEA Faktum (for my brother and grandmother). Well, for my brother, I think he mainly planned how he wanted to arrange it.
All without problems.
Unfortunately, the planning of my first kitchen for a room with a sloping roof was not optimal, and then I also had an accident with a leaking fully automatic coffee machine that ruined the countertop.
Therefore, I planned and built a new kitchen: Ikea Metod.
Everything went well, and this time I had the measurements for the countertop taken and also the countertop installed.
Everything is/was finished except for the DISHWASHER FRONT....
And that's where I'm stuck now and extremely frustrated!
I have a 6-year-old Neff SI 90 F1 with an external control and display panel.
When assembling the packages at Ikea, I said that I have a non-Ikea dishwasher, and the employee told me that I would need an adapter.
Yesterday, the day finally came, and I assembled it...
It doesn’t work, or rather it doesn’t fit!!! I took photos and ran through various ideas in my mind – it just doesn’t work. The part (plastic) that goes on the lower flap hits the dishwasher door at the top when properly screwed in and sticks out significantly, and if you drill new holes further down, the plastic part would hang out underneath.
The flap part would have to be guided at a very specific angle in a very specific position so it doesn’t hit the dishwasher itself at the back or the floor at the front. What it will look like once I install the toe kick board is still unknown.
So yesterday I went to Ikea Wallau and initially explained my problem at the service and then in the kitchen department.
In the end, they said there is no solution for my problem!
The only real solution, and I mean real solutions, not one that ruins the whole kitchen’s look, is...
I buy a new dishwasher from Ikea...
That can’t be true!!
I was unofficially told that if you buy a NEFF, Siemens, Bosch, or even expensive Miele, you simply have bad luck. Then the kitchen just looks patched together!!! However, the salespeople are not technicians and think that maybe you could "make something work" yourself.
By buying, I mean if you, like me, want to keep using a device from the previous kitchen.
Since this thread is quite long, I thought maybe someone does know a solution.
Do you have any tips?
Best regards and thanks in advance....
