Yesterday we signed our contract with the [GÜ] and finalized our financing with Allianz.

Now the documents for the knowledge transfer procedure from the [GÜ] will be completed and submitted by us by the end of July. The construction work at the [NBG] is progressing swiftly and remains on schedule. The notary appointment for the plot is at the end of this month.

Now it’s slowly time to start with the sampling and the search for a kitchen, as we have to have everything done by 30.09.

A phone call with the building authority yesterday (regarding another matter) revealed that a new middle house neighbor has not yet been found. "Well... you are building without and the other house with a basement. It’s not so easy to find interested parties," said the building authority.

We will see how things proceed.

And that in the current market situation. There is hope that the building authority has come to the realization that this type of development and allocation of building plots leaves room for improvement.

Well, the collective swarm intelligence of the building authority, construction committee, and city council plenary can't consist only of fools who are developing a building area for the first time. On the contrary: they have just "learned" that this is the demand, and they want to fulfill this citizen's wish. And in doing so, they are thinking a bit too small modularly (considering the roof pitch but not the basement slope). The solution is simple, and I have certainly already suggested it: per row, only allocate uniformly to those with basements or without basements, or alternatively require the same contractor (coordinated in one hand, a row of houses partly with and partly without basements is no more complicated than a "classic" partial basement of a monolithic object).

Wow, you signed a house construction contract and took out a home loan without having a 100% secure property? Is that wise?

I would try to let go of the thoughts about the neighbor a bit. What will be will be, and when it happens, it happens. Focus on your house, everything else will fall into place. I’m very curious to see how the project will go!

What do you mean by that? What is supposed to be not "secure"?

If I understood correctly, the Goalkeeper family already has their plot for sure, but in their trio, one of the other two had doubts and has now dropped out; and with that person's replacement, it is now uncertain whether they want to build with or without a basement.

So it is exactly this "falling into place" that is at issue, the sea is still rough.
