Wow, your neighbor's basement is really turning into a "luxury" basement - does he still really insist on having one? With all the trouble, costs, and risk, a bigger garden shed or a rented garage/storage space would be much cheaper for your neighbor... but anyway, it's only your business inasmuch as you rightly pay attention to the current and future proper condition of your property.

Wishing you continued success (you probably know the saying, "In court and at sea...") and good nerves!

It is getting stranger and stranger: today the neighbor called me to obtain our soil report, as his soil expert would need it to now create the correct foundation recommendation for the underpinning. As soon as the conversation ended, a letter from our lawyer arrived stating that he had spoken with the opposing attorney yesterday afternoon, who informed him that the neighbor strongly intends to sell the property again. He will probably speak with our mayor soon... but what does he actually need the report for now?!?

It remains exciting.

maybe he will still determine the costs, once for a continued scenario and once for the exit case.

And if he sells, he must disclose existing "little problems" to avoid liability for damages. Your expert opinion is of course very helpful here, he simply includes it and is off the hook. A buyer with little knowledge might already be satisfied with that.... especially considering how quickly one has to decide when buying nowadays.

I didn’t say that he received the [Gutachten]... Our settlement offer was agreed upon, which suddenly is no longer needed. He should first create clear conditions - then we will see further.

I remain convinced that the plot will be rezoned as a special area for the "monument of the incompetent mayor"

The mirror in the guest bathroom: is that the expensive one? Exactly the one with backlighting? It should cost around 3000€ or so for a large one with us. We opted out and paid 300€ for a similar one.
