.. now you're really missing the point. On the ground floor, you have the chamber under the stair flight going upwards. And the storage room is right at the entrance, about man-high, and becomes lower towards the back.

And this is how it looks on the upper floor ... floor plan with chamber above the ascending stair flight and section drawing:

I'm still confused: so this would work now, right?

The clearance height is 1.59m on the stairs according to the drawing.

Topic staircase lighting: we were at the house again today to think about the electrical meeting: does pure staircase lighting at foot level even make sense as the only lighting in the stairwell in our case (staircase with risers)?

Could that possibly be too dark and would we then need an additional wall light for each landing?

I assume the electrician will want a decent amount of money for that too. So the question is: real added value or just nice to have?

Furthermore, I am still not sure how to implement a reasonable night light/orientation light for the hallways? Gira offers an outlet combo with built-in LED with dusk sensor. However, it is quite dark there anyway, so it would be on permanently. Or are there other options?

Otherwise, today we also discussed the following with our friend who is also an electrician:

- various outdoor sockets on the front and back as well as on the sides at the parking spaces
- outdoor lighting for the parking spaces
- all electric roller shutters on the ground floor controllable from one position
- all exterior windows will get sockets in the jambs for Christmas lighting
- for later TV height, we will have a blank conduit plastered in and then later pull the cables for the TV from bottom to top there (exact location not 100% certain yet)
- locations of LAN sockets for PoE access points
- determination of all sockets
- raised connections in the master bedroom for TV

When installing the empty conduit at the TV, don't skimp on the thickness. An HDMI connector is large and not the only cable. I've already seen a few times that a cable channel is plastered over. Don't forget the socket behind the TV.
