His architect said at the beginning of the year that underpinning was not necessary at all - it's only 30cm. That’s when we and our general contractor flinched for the first time.
His shell builder is a UG founded in January 2020, which subcontracted the underpinning to a one-man do-everything battle unit, who also made the remark about Syrian refugees - an absolutely unsympathetic and combative character. He was in charge at the construction site, carrying everything out quickly and without our approval or involving our geotechnical expert. He also denied us access to the property.
After he received the preliminary injunction from our lawyer for information, he angrily called the secretary, apparently spat venom and bile, and said that he didn’t have a construction site there at all... even though he had informed us of the start of construction by email just three weeks earlier... one is left speechless.
