But that's not correct. We planned it this way with the general contractor at our request, and the architect only made the plans now.

It's not loveless, just pragmatic. And the "love" comes later in the form of furnishing, decoration, and the people living in it. After all, you make your home and don't plan it on the drawing board. It's a feeling, not just a sheet of paper.

I needed productive input and not someone who always only talks negatively about everything. And a complete redesign that fits your personal taste is also not helpful. One hopes or wishes for additions to the original planning, not for everything to be thrown overboard.

My parents-in-law also live in such a layout in a mid-terrace house and manage very well with it. The requirements are just thrown around casually. And I’d rather have a narrow hallway and therefore a slightly wider kitchen – a hallway isn’t a real living space but a passage to get to the front door or restroom. You don’t need 1.50m width for that.

It wouldn't be my design, but I don't find it terrible.

- The consecutive parking spaces would drive me crazy. It doesn't matter with one car, but if I read correctly, you have 2 station wagons. I also don't imagine bicycles maneuvering past the cars to be very fun, if it even works at all.
- I would be interested in your exact furniture arrangement on the ground floor. As it is now, I like it less.
- The upper floor and attic are okay. I find the dormer in the attic a bit too narrow for a double bed. But I think you are not allowed to make it wider.
- In general, I miss storage space.

But fundamentally, why do you want to submit the plan in the next few days if the height situation is not clarified?

That also caught my eye again. I would really like to see the layout. I'm afraid that with a 2m wide bed (including the frame) there isn’t 40 cm on the right and left sides of the bed, and then there is the slant in front of the head. And the 2 m line is quite far away.

Otherwise, I agree with all the points made by Hanse987. But I’m curious to see what comes of the lowering of the plot. Maybe a basement after all, possibly even with quite a bit of height above ground? Then it might also be an idea to put the master bedroom down there.

You did have the input. On the other hand, you must not overestimate everything. We are perfectionists here. Not everyone can or wants to be. Au contraire. The hallway at the entrance is one of the most important living spaces in the house. It is used more often than the way to the bedroom and often by everyone together. But we have already discussed all that. I am currently much more fascinated by the street situation at your place. I wonder how one is supposed to imagine it. Does the street then run like a kind of elevated railway past the house? At 1.50m width, you need fall protection on the left and right. Then almost all builders would have to raise their entire property by 1.50m? That would be an enormous amount of material. Is the street already finished?

If you zoom in a bit, you can clearly see the slope - and that is about 1.50m. The street is also already clearly visible.

And yes... actually all 20 builders in this row house area have to raise the ground.

According to the plan, we are looking from the southwest onto the area.

From a distance, it doesn't look that high, does it? What do the other builders say about it? Maybe the city will just fill it up themselves?
