Ours preferably always wants to be alone. Unfortunately, he still wants a big trampoline.

That's how it is, those things lead to a series of broken bones, torn ligaments, knocked-out teeth, etc. By the way, I prefer option 2. It makes better use of the garden and you want to keep a sandbox as far away from the terrace as possible, otherwise you quickly end up with a sand terrace. I don't see any disadvantage in having the gate in the middle. Possibly I would also pave a narrow path to the gate / cover it with patio slabs. The gate should be wide enough to easily get a wheelbarrow through.

I agree with you in large parts. However, the fence there is only 1.40m high – so undisturbed splashing around would be rather difficult. In option 1, the sandbox and later a small pool stand in front of the 1.80m high WPC privacy screen.

Also, in option 2, the problem is that the neighbor across the street can always look into our living room through the little gate. In option 1, you can plant continuously so that you still have a natural privacy screen.

The gate will definitely have a clear width of 1.00m.

Although regularly adding sand can keep the lawn nice and green ;)

I would not plan anything further with additional paths, etc. at Goalkeeper. The garden is really not very big and a bit of continuous lawn area ... please note it is only 24 sqm!! ... should definitely be there.

Well, if you talk about a pool, I would now assume at most something like an inflatable jacuzzi. You can simply put it on the terrace, should it ever come at all. The position of the terrace door would still be interesting; I don't have that handy right now. In general, the planning is not for eternity, you can redesign such a garden every few years, especially if it is manageable in size. I understand the thing with the door in the fence, if the neighbor is annoying, that's no good. How about playgrounds / outdoor pools nearby? I have always preferred those over having my own garden solution, I only ever had a larger paddling pool. But only one that I could empty again after a few days; I never wanted to deal with the maintenance of filters and such. A season ticket is much cheaper than anything semi-serious regarding a pool.
