At the beginning, we also flirted a lot with the fingerprint option – especially since my husband is the king of losing keys... the amount of time we have wasted searching is indescribable.
However, I was made aware of the security aspect here in the forum: fingerprints can be taken by someone who is determined, basically anywhere from you – and thus they can very easily and efficiently gain access to my house. It is only secure if those who use fingerprint access wear gloves from now on, aside from just opening the door.
That sounds convincing to me, and so we decided against the fingerprint option. Then there was the code option, but our door and window specialist advised against it. However, I no longer remember the reason.
So now we have a very classic key and probably more wild searching missions in the future. But we do have the "drop it in the lock and it’s closed" feature, and that is really very pleasant.
