Do the rails end with the white bracket?
yes
Why is the baseboard cut off at the top?
The board is cut off at the top because I thought that the side with the edge banding on the underside would better protect against moisture (and then I have the protection of the metal edge on top)
If it’s fine at the bottom, you can turn it around and apply some edge banding to the underside.
I only have a jigsaw right now, with which I can’t make a perfect straight 60cm cut. It might look bad if it becomes a bit wavy.
For now, I have temporarily clamped a 4mm item between the baseboard fastener (this semi-open clip) and the cabinet support. That way, there’s no step anymore between the drawer and the other baseboards. But the setup is a bit wobbly, and I would also need to clamp a 4mm part at the top and bottom of the baseboard so it can’t tilt forward and backward. Otherwise, the fastener holds fine with a 4mm item between the clip and the support.
There’s probably no other way?
- option described above
- omit aluminum plate
- attach the baseboard to the underside of the cabinet using an angle bracket
