That probably has more to do with personal taste than the era, I am younger than the 11ant and would have also tiled the floor with a pattern.

So basically, I like both bathrooms, it is only minor details that I find "disturbing", which may possibly be explained by how it was laid:

- Guest bathroom: Why is there a narrow strip of tiles on the right and something cut off on the left as well? Is the part on the right on the floor and the tile on the left more than a whole tile width? I would have distributed it evenly then.
- Main bathroom: I would have also "oriented" the floor tile somewhere to the wall tile, okay, the shower could be the factor here?! But the narrow strip in front of the shower also looks a bit unfortunate, just like the other narrow strip.

But a) you possibly have to see it live, b) you only notice this if you are looking for minor details, and c) it may also have resulted from the conditions or no other solution was possible. It is just something that caught my attention!

And why the tiler cut the tiles on the left and right in the guest WC like that can only be due to the fact that the room is 1.25m wide and the tiles are only 30cm wide. A strip of 5cm would probably have looked less conspicuous.
