PoE access points are not much more expensive and, since they do not require power outlets, are much easier to mount on the ceiling or high on the wall. The router does not need to support PoE—or at least none that I know of do—but instead a PoE injector is used, or for multiple devices a switch that supports PoE.

Definitely go with POE. With the many LAN sockets, it anyway doesn’t come from the router. I totally agree with you regarding KNX, if you want nice lighting then with KNX.

We have wall lights and motion detectors in the hallway downstairs and on all staircases. Very practical.

At night, it is primarily about avoiding tripping and stubbing toes, which can be done with a few watts, that in my opinion can also be continuous lighting: 9 PM - 7 AM always on when the main lighting is off.

In a seven-meter basic row house, no way seriously.

Yep, I understand the point. KNX is probably over the top. However, lighting is very important for daily well-being in my eyes and worth the money for consultation for me.

Thanks first of all for your contributions - there was already quite a bit of useful information.

Another question: at the same appointment, we will discuss plumbing again. We will provide wall-mounted washbasins and the associated base cabinets as our own work.

The base cabinets are then to be installed on the pre-wall. However, how can the plumber prepare the pre-wall for us so that we can then attach the base cabinet to it?
