So... since today the plumber has finished the rough installation, tomorrow the masons will come again, and on Thursday the screed layer will install the insulation, and from Friday onward, laying the underfloor heating will continue.

The issue with the outdoor unit of the heat pump is also somewhat resolved: the refrigerant line has been laid and is about 18.5m long - Daikin says that up to 20m is okay. So the outdoor unit will be placed in the backyard.

Our middle house neighbor has now also submitted his building application. Although I have received the plans from him, they raise a few questions, such as his basement. Allegedly, he adapted to our strip foundations (2.60m deep). However, it looks different on the plan.

In addition, he is building his entire house with 24 cm exterior walls. That may be okay for the walls that touch each other. However, his house stands about three meters above the garden. I think a 24 cm wall might not be sufficient?

We will take a look at the original plans at the building authority next week.

To comply with the Energy Saving Ordinance.

Are you worried now that your neighbor is not complying with the energy saving ordinance?

There are enough companies that still have 24ers as standard, e.g. Town & Country.
