An official mess corner?
The kitchen is okay, not really my style either, but that matte glass surface does have something. You will enjoy the kitchen if you take Kerstin’s advice to heart.
This organizational wall isn’t really my thing – it’s a planned spot for a messy area. Everything may have its place, but to the eye it looks untidy. And then in such a conspicuous corner...

It doesn't have to be glossy. But I know, photo back panels are either absolutely awful or great. Almost no one is in between.
I like them – of course, it very much depends on the motif.

My mother-in-law also has such a photo backsplash with poppies (find the flowers really beautiful) in her new kitchen, but this photo is really bad. A too small photo was taken and simply stretched to fit the area. You can see the poor resolution. Terrible.

I would find a personal photo backsplash quite nice. So with a photo that comes from the household.

Thank you very much for your objection - there might be something to it after I looked at the dimensioned top view.

By now yes - there are also many very good practical experiences to read about in the K. forum. And indeed Schüller is very price aggressive there. Nolte and Ballerina could not keep up.

That is called "life."

If that were the only messy corner with our two kids, I would be satisfied.

My wife thought it was absolutely great, since currently the magazines lie on the windowsill in the kitchen and my smartphone charges at the socket next to the coffee machine. Better a place where you can leave everything.

And honestly: in a terraced house you have to use space sparingly and be pragmatic - such a wall like this is definitely one.

About the "messy corner": Some things are just there. Even if you plan a place for them in the drawer, they end up back on the table/work surface. I find such planned corners very good – sure, it looks a bit chaotic; but better a somewhat chaotic wall than little chaotic piles spread all over the kitchen. Above all, you then have a clear area for everything that is temporarily lying around in the kitchen and where no one knows where it actually belongs. And if the corner really becomes visually annoying, it just goes away. I currently have a magnetic pinboard with baskets in the kitchen for that. I pin recipes, shopping lists, pens, labels, rubber bands, lighters, bottle openers, phone charging cables there, and I hang my ring there when I cook. Everything doesn’t always have to be completely sterile – I prefer planned chaos (also because I would never manage to keep everything perfectly tidy all the time and have no lighter or pen lying around).

Kitchen backsplash: I don’t like it. Somehow, I’m geared towards "calm" tile backsplashes. A dark backsplash feels oppressive to me, a photo wall quickly annoys me and is too busy on the surface. And a white/light glass backsplash doesn’t match my cleaning preferences. But everyone is different there. Although I don’t find the topic that difficult – basically, it can be changed quickly if you get tired of it. So it’s rather low on the priority list.

The record isn’t that dark – it just looks that way.
