we have used lockable handles on all windows. On the ground floor because of burglary protection, in the rest of the house because of child safety.
But wouldn't the push-button variant also be sufficient and above all more practical on the 1st floor and attic?
For example, we only have locks on the upper floor: in the children's rooms and on the floor-to-ceiling windows in the stairwell.
All other windows have push buttons. No idea why, but I have by now become quite accustomed to the clicking sound when they snap into place.
Older children can’t open locks either, push buttons are a hurdle for smaller ones.
Locking everything on the ground floor would be unrealistic for us, we initially also considered making them lockable.
