I found my story much more exciting The locks, like any (digital) device, have a risk. And yes: the latent papillary lines of the last user remain on your own scanner... but for a burglar to take advantage of this method, at least a car worth six figures or the jeweler family should live in the house. And the average burglar prefers to go around with a screwdriver and crowbar Sorry for the off-topic, But it’s not really off-topic... take the automatically closing door with a key, but don’t let it get stolen from you

In the decades I have walked this earth, I have never experienced a single power outage.
Furthermore, I have a photovoltaic system on the roof. My house causes about 250-300W base load. The photovoltaic system generates that even under a cloudy sky.
The "offline" version would then be a key at the neighbor's, grandma's, or in the bank safe.

Fearmongering. Keys can also be taken from you. You can also lose them, make a fingerprint in 5 seconds and reproduce it in the next hardware store (depending on the type of key, of course).
The necessary criminal energy and technical effort is (still) significantly higher with an electronic system than snatching a classic key.
In fact, I would always operate electronic locking systems autonomously. For example, I cannot open your door via KNX, even though it would be easily feasible. I certainly would not integrate an eLock into my network – there is a question in another thread right now about why smart homes should not preferably be realized on IP.

Of course it is an attack vector. However, as far as I know, it is not currently being used. Burglars pry open windows, break something in, or take your car keys.

Do you know how much electricity you can draw from your photovoltaic system during a power outage?
Exactly, none at all.

This is incorrect if - a storage system is available and/or - an inverter with island mode/backup power function is used

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't an accusation, but a sincere question from me we need to decide on a new front door soon and keyless sounds really good. But such a front door still has a lock that can be opened with a key, right? Then a power outage would only be a problem if no one has a front door key with them.
