Had a phone call today with our painter regarding the wall and ceiling coverings.

In the contract, we have a single-layer machine plaster and a medium textured wallpaper.

However, we would prefer a smooth fleece - you all know the additional cost. Our painter said he would go through the house once completely with the sanding giraffe and then apply a smooth fleece. That would be perfectly fine for normal requirements, and fully spackling and sanding would just be ripping people off.

Our general contractor, of course, will get this confirmed in writing so that we don’t complain afterwards if we don’t like it.

What is your opinion/experience/recommendation regarding this?

Well. Are you one of those people who examine their wall closely under every angle of light and have a meltdown if something is even a little uneven? For example, we are not like that at all; normal standard smoothness is completely sufficient for us.
