Everything's fine, it didn't come across as an accusation. There's nothing wrong with taking a key or leaving it with someone.

With good scanners, it is not the fingerprint that is scanned but, for example, the veins underneath. Additionally, there is a liveness detection. The normal lock in the door is still easier to attack. I would not want to do without it either.

Our surcharge for automatic locking was 500,- and exactly the same again for the fingerprint scanner. I love it and would decide the same way any time. My wife was initially skeptical and is now thrilled. It is an incredible added value to always go out and come in without having to think about keys, not having to put anything down with full hands to fumble around but just lift your finger and that’s it, etc. The fact that you don’t have to lock up separately is brilliant anyway.

Power outage? Simply give the key to the neighbor or place it in the hiding spot, done.

Anyone who wants to come in. The only relevant question for me would be how the insurance evaluates such a lock.
