You see me confused: weren’t parking spaces for the visitors of the residents something that people in Schilda didn’t think was needed?

Well - considering we actually had quite a few obstacles in the way, the planned interim goal, just before Christmas, was met exactly. Just like our originally planned start of construction immediately after the release of the building area. Therefore, a shoutout to our general contractor! Otherwise, it will now take about 4-5 more months until completion. The appointment with the electrician and plumber went great and we were really well advised to think about some things in advance. Both are local small businesses that have been working with him for years and really give the impression that they know what they are doing. We are also getting a free upgrade from the originally planned Rotex heat pump to the Daikin air-to-water heat pump, only available from 2020 onwards, with the more efficient Daikin R32 refrigerant. Otherwise, I am currently still looking for companies that offer air conditioning units and water softeners. We will install an air conditioner in our bedroom as it might get quite cozy in the summer. The next step is to insulate and reinforce the side party wall. Then the scaffolding will be removed so that I can also take care of my parking spaces on the side. The plan is to pave in front and on the side of the house and at least distribute the 120 cubic meters of soil in the garden so that it can settle. My wife said I could do that with a shovel.

She can already get started.

I manually distributed 10 cubic meters, but then that was enough.

Such a small wheel loader doesn't cost a fortune... Although you'd rather give something to the local animal construction company, because their big mobile excavators don't damage the ground as much...

The difference between the two pictures was just under an hour and €120...

I estimate close to 250 cubic meters of topsoil.
