RIGHT.

I have installed several electrical circuits in the garden (and almost broke my bones doing it, haha).

Lighting, "until the cows come home." Several circuits.
Hundreds of meters of cable. Plus tree lighting for two great trees from 1958 that stand here.

Also three-phase power for the garden shed / electric car / tools. Outdoor sauna and pool are a great idea. Let me win the lottery (if anyone doesn’t need it, bring it to me, I’ll hook it up here).

Next week I will bring the last garden circuit online with my electrician. More or less the only thing the battered jumpy jackdaw can do here in the garden this year. Then the makeshift LED solar will go away – and proper lighting will come to the garden. And that will be awesome. The LED tree lighting (the trees are 24-26 m tall) will definitely be *the hit*.

Outdoor electricity must be planned and built.

EXCITED.

Wow, there were indeed quite a few good tips in there! We thought of many things, but some were new and really helpful. Thank you

Two-way switches for the reading/bedside lamps at the bed and at the door ensure cozy lighting from before bedtime until sleep time. Separate lighting control for the work surface in the kitchen. Sockets operated by a switch, e.g. the TV socket (one is enough for a power strip)

Exactly. We have even supplemented this with an ambient bed lighting, indirect light, so you don’t wake your partner at night when you turn it on.

Correct, that is very sensible.

Very sensible tip. However, we have done this for the living room cabinet, which can provide a lot of light and also serves as a lamp. It is so practical that I regret not having made more sockets in the house switchable like this.

Here is some reading material:

As already said, the topic has been discussed extensively several times.

I have that, for example, in the office where the PC along with all devices on the desk can be turned on/off with a switch above the desk panel. The PC starts automatically as soon as it receives power. To turn it off, just shut down normally and then press the button, and everything is really off. The WLAN printer including fax has a socket next to it with constant power.
Or as you already said, for the hi-fi corner.

- At least one LAN on each floor for WLAN bridge. Possibly integrate WLAN directly into the system
- Classic: socket in every window recess
- Check and walk through the shell construction from room to room and see where one would now have a switch. Under no circumstances forget the switch for the upstairs hallway at the lower level and vice versa (a colleague has that in her house...). Better one switch too many than too few
- Have switchable cables laid outside. For example, we have a 10-meter cable that can be switched directly next to the front door. With that, we can, for example, put a lamp somewhere in the garden in front of the front door, or illuminate 5 or 10 or a Christmas tree or similar. // the same for the garden, to illuminate, for example, the garden pond or similar (or pump...)
- Lay a thick phase cable for a later electric car at least as a cable in the carport/garage
- Cables for carport/garage lighting and sockets
- Socket for the terrace (barbecue?)
- Music preparation for the terrace?
- In-wall speaker cable for a later hi-fi system (at least 2 cables from front to back...)
- Possibly a socket and HDMI cable above the sofa spot on the ceiling for a later projector (then also a socket at the edge above the TV for an electric screen)
