It's a mystery to me with what composure this annoying task is accepted nowadays. After showering I want to dry myself off – and when I'm dry, get dressed – and when I'm dressed, not stumble around between damp shower walls again...
For me, it's like this: I turn off the tap, step out and... done ;)

Quote:

Tiles and glass are – as far as cleaning is concerned – in my view – worlds apart.

That makes me think of the – modern – sinks that look like an – old-fashioned – bowl on a table.
Three times as much cleaning work as a normal sink.

But I already realize... at my age one is lonely in terms of taste ;)

I don't do that either, not when I am already dressed, but right after showering. Towel around me and wipe down the wall, then dry myself. It's just one wall, that's really done quickly. If the alternative were to have an opaque solid wall there, it's worth it to me. I want to feel comfortable in the bathroom. And I'm not that young anymore either.

Well, I have a 140 cm glass shower screen. This "annoying" task – I just paid attention – takes about 4-5 seconds when I remove the panel.

It's a mystery to me how inflexible older generations show themselves nowadays ;)

Isn't the glass wall available with the photo motif "Droplets" and lotus effect. If you don't want to clean so much, a descaling system helps, at least for us.

Not uninteresting, the side topic "Putzen," but my question was more whether there are any understandable reasons against the approach I am planning. So far, my plan seems feasible to me. I thank you for the comments. :)

If the argument against glass is "only" a latent cleaning allergy, you can try googling Crash-Glass. It looks like a cracked glass pane and is correspondingly stain tolerant, and is also only max 15mm thick. I have seen it live once and thought it was pretty great.
