Cost estimate for glass stair railing

So you need to know, but I would lose my taste for it.
That is more than twice as much as we paid for our entire wooden staircase.

Yes, I had also estimated it cheaper, but I got my KNX installations and the wife had the wish for this stair railing, so the high price won’t save me now :-/

3000 € per meter? For better visibility? I'm all for give and take - but KNX offers a lot of added value and I would tell my wife how nice it is to go on vacation because of it. Unless you are millionaires, then it wouldn't matter. Basically, close your eyes and get through it.

The glass also has a use here, namely that the light from the stairwell, which the window provides, also reaches the hallway. Of course, you could also work with a steel railing here, but I just can’t get along with the look at all. The masonry parapet was on the table, I would have liked that too, but then the hallway is really very dark. We are now waiting to see what offers come in from the latest inquiries. If it stays at this level, we (I) will probably swallow the pill with the float glass and close the matter. I certainly won’t argue with my wife, otherwise my system might constantly go offline for inexplicable reasons ;-) I would so love to be a millionaire.... *sing* :)

We chose the glass railing for the same reason. It’s not really my style visually; I would prefer wood like Tolentino, or even the masonry railing like in the old house. There we nicely covered the top with wood, which I really liked visually. But the glass really offers a lot of light here, and otherwise the back part of our hallway is very dark. I think that makes the upper floor look very spacious and open.
What we pay extra for it, I don’t think I’m allowed to say, it’s hardly worth mentioning.

... I think some will wish here that you could clone GUs when reading the reports from yours.
