So, I’m done with the thread as well, nothing has happened here for a while - so I’m bringing it back up :)
Congratulations , very nice house and I hope life continues to be good in it!
Since I can’t contribute much at the moment (except that for our renovation two years ago I also extensively dealt with the technology including KNX and DALI, network/Unifi etc. and have had similar experiences in many respects regarding the personal effort in planning and on-site as rick has made) I still have 4 questions for rick and a tip for grill enthusiasts with a flair for Swiss products (and so I can find this thread again when hopefully someday I build a second time and need some ideas) :D
Questions:
1.) You once explained in some detail what you would do differently: do you have a “current” list of topics you/you all would do differently after living in it for 2 years?
2.) Because it was initially discussed so extensively and then nobody asked anymore: would you build the toilets the same way again?
3.) What kind of switches/room controllers do you have? Have you also looked at Basalte? In my opinion, that would fit well with you (we enjoy our sentidos and ellies in brushed brass)
4.) Could the APs also be installed under the suspended acoustic ceiling, or would there be a possibility to realize a possibly invisible “service” access (and if yes, why didn’t you do that, since with wood and enough APs that shouldn’t significantly reduce the performance)?
And last but not least my tip, in case a new or additional grill is needed (I don’t have one yet but have seen one in operation and they are very high-quality made): just google “azado grill,” they come from St. Gallen and are derived from the Argentine asado. The trick with this grill is, among other things, that it can be fired with gas, charcoal, or wood (and e.g. with the gas burner the charcoal can be ignited when you don’t want to use gas).
