We just had that in the family with "85", it was really sad and hard to convey.......now we're just supposed to celebrate afterwards... :(

My grandma also missed the 93er. Sure, it's a shame, but we'll somehow make it up. We have regular contact. That is more important than a birthday.

Yes, everything can be made up later. But he was so looking forward to it and I just feel sorry for him now.

We were just there. A small champagne reception in the garden at -1°. Not exactly corona-compliant either, but he had tears in his eyes and was really happy. His daughter and son-in-law were there too, and now we have planned a roast suckling pig event for the summer. Hopefully he is still as fit then as he is now!
