Hi, for that I can recommend: Brady IDXpert. It is regularly available on eBay, also sometimes by the box of labels which are otherwise outrageously expensive (but available for every purpose, extremely good and lasts forever). For example, years ago I labeled my father's water bottle with it which regularly goes in the dishwasher, and after several years it still looks like it was just applied! Not only for the cabinet, but also components and especially the cables look great labeled with it.

P.S.: I would of course also like to see pictures of the server cabinet. I'm almost more interested in that than pictures of houses.

already have a larger labeling device. I need to check which brand and which labels are available for it. The server cabinet is nothing special. The components have "a lot of space" because I can work on them more easily that way. So not how you would do it professionally to save installation space... The network infrastructure is Unifi. - 1 x 10 Gbit router - 1 x 10 Gbit switch - 2 x 48-port POE switch - 1 x 48-port switch - NAS Synology RS3617xs+ (64 GB RAM) and additional 10 Gbit expansion card - old NAS will be additional backup (external and also offline already available) - Gira Facilityserver and a few other small things.

You: "Honey, this is what our tech room looks like" ...and then comes the list

Then I want to see her reaction or does she know the terminology?

She couldn't care less
It should be as unobtrusive as possible, easy to use, and must work reliably.
Although she is significantly more proficient with technology than the average person.

This is quite a "gem." But with that number of PoE ports, it probably is necessary. Private IT guy's toy...

Actually, I usually hold back on comments like this. But I have to say that with your down-to-earth manner, openness, and ultimately with this very interesting thread, you earn a lot of sympathy points. Rightly so! Thanks & keep it up! It's really a lot of fun to be able to observe the development of such a project from afar and still learn something new technically.
