You are mistaken about the wall construction. The hollow concrete walls are filled with concrete on site. So, no core insulation. But there are also hollow walls with core insulation. That did not work for structural and other reasons. The main reason was our floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows. The weight of one pane is almost 2 tons… With “normal” windows we would have chosen that way. Now we have the ventilated, mineral-insulated facade hung in front. So with “normal” windows you can save yourself that. Every elevator has specific shaft dimensions. Retrofitting is very complex. I don’t know anyone who has ever activated the intended shaft. Either do it right away or not at all. Please consider that the bureaucracy for an elevator will “get on your nerves.” You must (at least for commissioning) meet all criteria. That means emergency call, access, mirror, TÜV, emergency plans, elevator attendant… If you want to maintain that, it costs a lot of money. If you don’t, you are liable if something happens to a third party (e.g. cleaning lady). Most people I know disable the emergency call etc. since no one comes into the house anyway. And they can’t shut down your elevator either because they can’t get in. Just let it wait… We don’t have an elevator from the “home” category. But generally, elevators with low usage do not use hydraulic elevators. These position themselves permanently on the defined level. That means pumps run, etc. more complex maintenance. Here, elevators with electric motors and belts are used. Of course there are also safety doors for elevators but I don’t quite understand the question. Our elevator is inside the building within the security area. From the garage to the house there is a very secure door. The entire area is secured by motion, presence detectors and cameras. This area is the most vulnerable since a garage door offers almost no security. I can’t give you the exact value. But it’s roughly around Kfw55 standard. Real values are not reliably available yet. What you use to heat with doesn’t matter. We could also heat our house with wood / electricity.
