Simple, affordable, pragmatic, and beautiful. Often, creative thinking counts. (You can't say "quer" anymore, it has been hijacked. Maybe "lateral," "transvers," or "diagonal" still work, none of which sound as nice. A pity for the language.)

No. The language belongs to the whole people and not to the tin foil hats / anti-vaxxers / Reich citizens and/or re-labellers of brown as blue (from whom I am still waiting to see TUI and Nike give a slap on the wrist for stealing the checkmark). The interpretive authority of the word "quer" should not be left to the same idiots ;-)

@Rick: Thanks for showing, I've never seen it like that before - great! We sank ours, it was an effort beyond compare... looks great now but it was constant nervousness whether everyone was working precisely enough.

Maybe you can show a photo of it sometime.

I'll contribute something as well: White baseboard for the oak floors

Tiled floors: Baseboards were made from the offcuts here.

I haven't read along in this thread for a long time. I just read your post from yesterday about the snow. I have a buddy who had an underfloor heating system installed outside to deal with snow. We maybe get snow here once a year. It might be more worth it for you. I also see the necessary cash as available here ;)
