Ah yes, we won't have grass, but the usual greenery.

If the mats are that expensive, I'll take a look at the other options. As I said, there is currently no budget for it anyway, but at some point the garage roof should be greened. We were told that the EPDM membrane is supposed to work as a root barrier - it's already laid down.

21° is a nice swimming temperature; do you then have a mat to cover it with that can also protect the water from cooling?

Green roofing is usually a bit more than just a root barrier and then substrate with seeds on top. Better wait a little longer and save up. Unfortunately, it’s not cheap. Gravel is usually used as a vegetation-free zone. But other stones, tiles... also work. We have a cover made of polycarbonate with a solar function for the pool. However, it is not yet installed. It floats on the water (otherwise it is not possible because it’s an infinity pool). If someone accidentally steps on it, you only get wet feet but it doesn’t sink. The cover increases warming during the day and reduces cooling at night. The pool is also insulated on the sides and bottom.

Ahh, I thought as much. At least this is a pool you can actually swim in - very nice!

For the planting (extensive) we were told around €5,000 - €6,000, it is about 70 sqm.

I wouldn't find the price exaggerated. Of course, it also depends on the type...

We can also heat the pool. (Per Gas und/oder Wärmepumpe). However, this should only happen in exceptional situations.

What are you doing with the lawn on the garage?
Is the roof also used as a terrace?
I find the idea of a robotic mower on a garage really, really cool.

with us it was done at the end of April - with a mix of succulents. They do need a while to take root, and when cold autumn wind blows over, half of it flies away on the one hand, and if it gets too cold before it takes root, the stuff also freezes.

But beware: unfortunately it was not a mix with us, by a mix I understand different varieties. Ultimately it was only one variety, I then planted a few different sedum species myself in between so it doesn’t look too monotonous.

Garage roof, about 60 sqm. I would have to look up the price, but your figure seems rather expensive to me.
